Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri was an Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in the Tezaab film, in which she was a part of the cast with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next role was in Dil which she was on screen with Aamir. In Mumbai the city she was born within a middle class family parents. When she was a young stage, she was able to study dance. As a young woman, she started acting but was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. Then she found her feet and was one of the leading actresses within the Indian film industry. After her wedding ceremony, she took a time off from her acting career prior to returning. Dixit played an important role on Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times for Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of these. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her social work is also popular.
